Well my attempts at turning the old server into a kick ass homebrew PVR failed. Couple of reasons 1) Windows 2000 refused to acknowledge the drivers for either the on board or Creative PCI 128 sound cards; 2) Any useful PVR software (that doesnt require more than a Duron and PC133 memory) is Linux based, my TV card has no Linux support; finally 3) The PSU is completely knackered, the sound totally overshadows the TV.
So its going back to a Windows Server 2003 SP1 machine and the entire website is going to be moved back. Other reasons for the move are my second workstation just can't handle every day activities and running a webserver, and finally since it was moved to an XP machine the number of attempted hacks has increased several fold. Damn you l33t script kiddies.
Its too damn hot in my office too, I want to be able to turn both workstations off at night.
